Frances Anderson:

kite artist profile

Frances studied fashion and textiles at Northumbria University and went on to design textiles and selling her own range of fashion, knitwear and accessories to the London market, galleries and private commissions. Frances worked in adult education and management before embarking on a freelance career in arts and arts education. She currently runs creative workshops in textiles and kites for all ages as well as project management and evaluation. As one half of 'Drywater Arts' she delivers creative projects for early years in the north east. Her interest in kites enables her to combine textiles techniques with sculptural forms in her miniature kites. She uses Batik techniques to colour washi paper before constructing her delicate kites.
