Infinite Arts led the Kite Programme for the first Sunderland International Friendship Festival in 2007 and will be developing a new programme for 2008. For Infinite Arts reports and pictures from the 2007 festival please click here
SUNDERLAND INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP FESTIVAL 2008
DATES - for the event in 2008 - Saturday July 5th / Sunday July 6th
VENUE - the festival is a two day event on a green field site - the Northern Area Playing Fields in Washington (8 miles from Sunderland, 7 miles from Newcastle, 16 miles from Newcastle international airport 10 miles from the international ferry terminal at North Shields).
EVENT - it’s is a family event with music, street theatre and activities for children to complement the kite programme.
THEME - friendship is the theme of the festival and we would like to reflect this in the kite programme.
KITE PROGRAMME we aim to focus on kite art and the art of kite-flying.
WIND SCULPTURE AND INSTALLATION ART - we'd like to involve artists to create wind related installations on the site.
KITE EXHIBITION we are planning an exhibition in a marquee to show unique kites made from natural materials.

Kitefliers Registration
All kitefliers who wish to attend the festival and fly kites on site must register in advance. Please download a registration form here and return to us asap - or alternatively contact us at info@infinitearts.co.uk or ring 0191 564 0833
